Euro, edgy, fashion forward
International retailer Suitsupply offers stylish, edgy clothing that isn’t just for fashion-forward men who seek business attire, but gives broad appeal to a range of options for leisure and nights out. Their target demographic skews young and lean, and the clothing is classy, colorful and stylized.
Denver was a natural and obvious city for expansion, reports VP Nish de Gruiter, as the firm already enjoyed a strong market here for online sales. Add that to Denver being a top destination for Millennial professionals, a robust lifestyle that bounds from the boardroom to the art gallery opening to après-ski , and the ideal Cherry Creek North location. “Satisfied with our choice? Very much so!” he reports.
“I just returned from Europe and I’m definitely hearing people in the international apparel industry there mention Denver, looking at Denver, considering Denver,” de Gruiter said. “It’s very much on peoples’ minds.”
Meanwhile, the Cherry Creek North store has delivered handsomely on expectations since its November 2013 opening, and the Netherlands-based firm is happily becoming integrated with the local community--planning events and building relationships with other retailers. Suitsupply’s next few months are a whirlwind of momentum, too, with stores opening in Los Angeles, Boston, and San Francisco.
